Lutz is 15 miles north of Tampa in Hillsborough County, Florida. It overlaps into two counties. Most of Lutz is in Hillsborough County, but a small portion north of State Road 54 is in Pasco County. It began as a railroad depot and developed into an affluent community of residents looking for peaceful living. Lutz is fully loaded with lakes and water sports, such as fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing. Residential developments in Lutz are primarily single-family homes, many have lakeside views and quiet nights. Deer Lake Estates is one of the lake communities in Lutz

Local Lifestyle
Residents are drawn away from the boisterous city life of Tampa to the peaceful and conservative atmosphere of Lutz. The residential areas are spread out, single-family homes have space and yards in between them. There are multiple hiking trails around the surrounding lakes with great views and ample opportunities for water-based activities. Brown’s Lake is a tranquil fishing spot where you may catch bass, crappie, or catfish.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Florida is known for its delicious seafood and one of the local favorites is The Great Catch by Taste of Boston. Your favorite dish might be George’s Famous Lobster Roll, a foot-long lobster roll served with your choice of side. Vallarta’s Restaurante Mexicano has dollar tacos on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and margarita’s that are “bigger than your head.” Great Italian cuisine can be found in Lutz at Villaggio’s Ristorante Italiano. Enjoy some Seafood Risotto or Veal Parmigiana while listening to live music. Ford’s Garage offers craft beer, delicious burgers, and traditional American dishes. Lutz has three shopping areas, Lutz Lake Crossing, Northgate Square, and Van Dyke Commons.
For an adventure, take a hot air balloon ride over Lutz, New Tampa, Wesley Chapel, Land O’ Lakes, and “wherever the wind may take you” at American Balloons, just an hour away in Tampa. The balloon rides are held once a day around sunrise so you can take in the marvelous views of all of the lakes as well as the coastline and the Gulf of Mexico.
Things to Do
Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park is a great place to take the family for the day and a popular place to host birthday parties. They have activities for the whole family with trampolines, dodgeball, and an indoor golf swing suite. Toddler areas provide a fun place for the littles to enjoy the trampolines. Older kids and adults have multiple trampolines to jump on, or to engage in a fun game of trampoline basketball, dodgeball, or other fun games. The Swing Suite is a virtual golf experience where all ages can practice their swing or enjoy a fun round of virtual golf.
Two Sisters DIY Workshop has painting parties and workshops where you can make your signs and other fun home decor items. During the holiday season, their Christmas ornament classes are popular. They provide a fun break from the busy holiday season and unique gift items. Painting With a Twist, in nearby Wesley Chapel, is a fun time where you can sip delicious wine while you try your hand at freehand painting. They provide step-by-step instructions, so everyone can join in, have fun, and feel good about their creation.
